To make your Christmas garland you will need:

  • Artificial Christmas garlands
  • Christmas lights
  • Real greenery from the garden such as pine, conifer or bay
  • Baubles and decorations
  • Florist wire

STEP 1

Start with your base artificial Christmas garlands. Weave these through the banister to secure on your stair. If you want to use on your mantle select your thickest garland and weave the others around it.

STEP 2

Begin to add real greenery from the garden. We found branches of pine and conifer work well, as do sprigs of bay.

STEP 3

It’s time to add the lights. To remove the trip hazard of wires we decided to opt for battery operated lights. Warm white lights will add a cosy vibe, but you can of course use an alternative such as brightly coloured lights if you would prefer.

STEP 4

Begin to add your personal style with some of your own baubles and decorations. We’ve used statement silver leaves and flowers, berry garlands and stems. Why not add scented accessories such as cinnamon sticks (secure with florist wire) and scented pinecones for example? Remember, if you’ve pets or young children in the house these might be hazardous.

STEP 5

Wow your family, friends, and guests with a statement staircase Christmas Garland!
