The collection with designer Simone Rocha is anticipated to arrive in the spring — here’s the lowdown on the upcoming collaboration.

The first look at the upcoming collection from Irish designer Simone Rocha and H&M has been released — and it’s gorgeous.

From the trademark poufy Simone Rocha tulle, to the delicate and feminine tailoring, you’ll find everything and more. What’s more, there’s really something for everyone as the collection boasts womenwear, menswear and kidswear. Chic family dressing is now in.

Featuring structured trenches, detailed collars and dresses created for the perfect twirl, it’s a hark to celebration and extravagance, something so many of us are dreaming of. Yet there’s something steadfast and modern from Rocha’s designs — the ruffled sleeves, the oversized skirts and batwing sleeved coats. An element of lasting wonder, a feeling the items will hang in your wardrobe and demand the limelight, stealing the show every time.

Continuing a long tradition of designer collaborations with acclaimed designers like Stella McCartney, Balmain, Erdem, Karl Lagerfeld and Moschino, high-end designers continue to create inspirational collections for the high street. This year, it’s the turn of Rocha and it’s set to be even grander.

Irish designer Simone Rocha is known for her modern take on femininity, where the delicate meets the sublime. This masterful balance is what has earned her the title of being one of the most coveted shows at London Fashion Week — as well as being a firm favourite with industry insiders. Her work has become the go-to for red carpet moments that were meant to grab attention, with the likes of Diane Kruger, Alex Chung and Rihanna being big fans.

“To be honest, it was really emotional going through all the pieces — it was a wonderful chance to reflect on seasons I was especially proud of, and to revisit collections that felt like milestones, and little gems of ideas that we maybe didn’t push as far as we wanted to the first-time round.

“The archive is so important to the way I work as a designer anyway. We are not a brand that abandons ideas each season — we often look back on past propositions or continue to evolve a silhouette, or shape,” says Rocha.

“When you wear Simone Rocha, you feel like the belle of the ball,” says model and muse Adwoa Aboah. She stars in the campaign video alongside fellow model Tess McMillan and Normal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones.

“Simone’s ethos is incredibly inclusive. I’d say that her clothes are made for everyone — whatever age, whatever shape or size, whatever style, be it girly girl or more androgynous.

“She has something for everyone, which is really wonderful. I also feel that her clothes are made to be worn and made to be lived in, and I think that more fashion should be like that,” says Daisy Edgar-Jones.

The use of soft colours and delicate fabrics catch the eyes of fashion lovers, so anticipate this approach in the upcoming collection.

“My approach at every stage of the design process was to remember that for some this would be an introduction to Simone Rocha, a chance to enjoy the brand for the first time, while for others this will be a chance to recall the history of a brand that they have followed for a while.

“Maybe they will be able to buy a version of a piece that they missed the first time, or a piece they always wanted but didn’t get. Through H&M, they will be able to access a new, timeless, special piece to mix in with their existing items from past runway collections. I really hope there is something for everyone — every woman, every guy, the whole family,” says Rocha.

H&M X Simone Rocha will be available on 11th March 2021.
