Essential viewing for those with young children in the family, this Christmas comedy stars Will Ferrell. The story focuses on a man who believes he is a Christmas elf and follows his journey around New York.

The Grinch

Another children’s classic, the animation was one of the highest grossing films of all time. Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to the green grinch.

Santa Claus: The Movie

Another timeless classic featuring Dudley Moore. The 1985 film follows the story of Patch the elf who leaves Lapland in search of a new employer.

The Polar Express

Featuring Tom Hanks the 2004 animation follows the journey of a little boy on Christmas Eve who boards a mysterious train destined for the North Pole.

Disney’s A Christmas Carol

A film that’s been subjected to many reworkings, we have selected the Disney version. The Charles Dickens story follows the journey of the original bah-humbug – Ebeneezer Scrooge. Forced to confront three spirits who seek to forewarn him of the consequences of his miserly actions.

The Holiday

Well if you were looking for a heartwarming rom-com this is the one for you. Featuring an all-star cast including Jude Law, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, the film follows the trials and tribulations of two very different women.

Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

Another film that has been reworked on a number of occasions, we’ve selected our favourite. Richard Attenborough stars as Kris Kringle. This 1994 version gets extra points for the amazing 90s styling of actress, Elizabeth Perkins who stars as Dorey Walker.

Home Alone

A young Kevin McCallister finds himself home alone and faced with two dangerous house criminals. Can you believe it’s been 30 years since the film came out?

Die Hard

If you are looking for some decidedly less cheesy viewing this action packed thriller might be or you. Bruce Willis races against the clock to save his family from a group of terrorists.

Love Actually

Another Christmas classic featuring all all star cast ranging from Hugh Grant through to Ant and Dec, the 2003 Christmas comedy will have you laughing and crying in equal measure.

The Bishop’s Wife

Adapted from the 1928 novel, this 1947 film features screen legend, Cary Grant. The story focuses on an angel and his wife and their attempt to raise money for a new church.
